My name is Reni Jablonsky, and I am a sophomore currently attending Lafayette High School in Williamsburg, VA. Born in Oregon, I began music by composing on a foot long electric keyboard. I learned music from my best friend, Sarah Devine, and further continued my study with a private piano teacher until moving to Williamsburg, Virginia.

I enjoy playing piano, trombone, and I also attempt to play guitar and percussion. During the 2001 school year, I took a master's level music composition course at the College of William and Mary where I received an "A" in the course and was allowed to have the William and Mary Orchestra perform my composition titled "Pet Shop." Since then I have written many various compositions of all styles, including jazz, classical piano pieces, arrangements for string quartet, solo songs, and mainstream music.

In my 8th grade year of Middle School, I entered the MENC National Electronic Music Talent Search and became the middle school winner. I was awarded with $5000 and brought to Dallas, TX, where I attended the TL2 Learning Conference to accept my award and speak at a private panel with music educators from around the world. If you would like to hear my winning piece, please go to My Music and click on the song titled "Cool."

As far as music goes, I continue to write and play music to this very day. I am currently involved in all aspects of the LHS band, including Jazz and Symphonic Band. This year at the District VIII competition I placed first chair trombone and I will be auditioning for the All Virginia Band (which I plan on making!). Music will always be a big part of my life, if not the center of it (until I find myself a man…haha kidding). In school I maintain a 4.0 GPA, am an active member of the Student Newspaper, French Club, Model United Nations, and Mu Alpha Theta; and I believe that hard work and politeness will get you anything you want.

For the past year I have also been working as a web site designer and builder. So far I have completed two websites, one of which is a trademarked doctoral site (www.colonialfishing.com and www.trustedvoice.com). I plan on continuing my business with a new educational therapy site for Progressive Learning Therapy, Inc. If you are interested in my computer skills for your very own website, or for any other type of computer skills work, please contact me below.
